We are thrilled to announce the confirmation of two distinguished keynote speakers for the Second European Light Field Imaging Workshop (ELFI 2024). Prof. Rajesh Menon from the University of Utah, USA, and Dr. Karol Myszkowski from the Max Planck Institute, Germany, will deliver keynote talks, offering invaluable insights into the forefront of light field imaging.
Prof. Rajesh Menon’s keynote, titled “Perspectives on Imaging with Diffractive Flat Optics,” will provide an exploration into the resurgence of flat optics in imaging technologies. His talk will delve into the connections between flat lenses and holograms, discuss the current state of diffractive flat lenses, introduce an effective metric—the generalized strehl ratio—for comparing their performance, and speculate on potential avenues for future research.
Dr. Karol Myszkowski’s keynote, titled “Neural Reconstruction and Realistic Display of High Dynamic Range Images,” unravels the complexities of High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging and its implications for image representation and visualization. Dr. Myszkowski will present an approach to neural reconstruction of HDR content from single and multiple Low Dynamic Range (LDR) images.
ELFI 2024 attendees can anticipate enriching their understanding of these cutting-edge topics in light field imaging and related technologies through the insightful presentations by Prof. Menon and Dr. Myszkowski. For further details, please visit the Invited Talks page.
